Why Regine Velasquez is Better Off without Marian & Ai-Ai

Rumor has it that the supposed talk show to feature the trio Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Marian Rivera-Dantes, and Ai-Ai delas Alas will not anymore include Asia's Songbird. That the project is still pushing through despite it. The Outsider thinks that this is better. Regine is already established with Sarap Diva and she is better off in that show.

But really, Asia's Songbird deserves a show of her own. With the years she has spent in showbiz and the name that she is, she deserves to be retained in her Saturday talk show.

Not saying that Marian Rivera and Ai-Ai delas Alas are unworthy teammates. Just that the two are already strong a force for a talkshow. And that Regine currently doing her own show is just reason enough to exclude her. Take note, Marian and Ai-Ai will make good talk show hosts. So this is not a hater post but rather to show respect to what Regine deserves to have.

Try giving it a watch today as she guests Rovilson & Marc Nelson.

Rhian Ramos is The Richman's Daughter 2.0, Headwriter Asks Support

It is official. The new 'Jade' replacing Marian Rivera in her role in The Richman's Daughter is none other than Rhian Ramos.

In a statement released via Philippine Entertainment Portal, Ramos expressed her gratitude towards GMA Network for trusting her yet again.

"Nagpapasalamat po sa GMA sa tiwalang binigay sa akin na ganapan ang role na JADE sa teleseryeng THE RICHMAN'S DAUGHTER. I look forward to the challenge of portraying the character.
My very best wishes and congratulations to Ate Marian Rivera Dantes! I wish her a happy, comfortable, and safe pregnancy."

Fair Game of Replacements
If you remember in 2012, Marian Rivera also had to replace Ramos for her role in My Beloved, the soap opera that featured Dingdong Dantes as a fallen angel. That was during the trying time of Ramos in her plight against Mo Twister.

That soap which had major replacement didn't do so well despite good promotion. We hope that the case of The Richman's Daughter will be different.

Kapuso fans hope that despite the major replacement, the lesbian-themed soap opera will still manage to become phenomenal.

Update: Headwriter asks for Support
Meanwhile, the headwriter of the said soap has just posted a tweet signifying that the project is really pushing through.

In her Facebook account, she also asks support from fans of Marian Rivera.

You're My Boss, Star Cinema's way of putting that GMA Films Sucks!

If anything, You're My Boss is surely not a spinoff of GMA Films flop movie My Lady Boss (oh did I say flop coz almost all movies they had were flop after they stopped producing epic movies). Starring the Toni Gonzaga and the leading man 'who needs a leading lady to pull up the gross income' Coco Martin, You're My Boss is something to watch out for this 2015 based on trailers.

As excited as we are to watch this movie, it's undeniable that this film has semblance with My Lady Boss which starred Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez. If you remember, that movie was a teamup that people looked forward to except that it was delayed because of the Sarah Lahbati-GMA Network controversy. GMA Films, however, decided to release the film despite unsettled matters. Because of such, the movie went nowhere aside from the fact that the film outfit really lacks a lot of things in terms of making movies popular. (to clarify, Marian Rivera was not at fault at all... Just in case Marianknights would react)

My Lady Boss earned more than P20million... only! That's a run of two weeks. The Toni-Coco starrer will make history for sure. But as you see the semblance, it makes you think that Star Cinema's upcoming movie is their way of putting that GMA Films sucks big time in wasting great concepts by doing a really bad execution both in filmmaking and promotions.

As an outsider, whether Star Cinema intends to 'in your face' GMA Films or not, we prefer to think that GMA Films really sucks big time! Wasted concepts. Wasted money. Wasted films. Gone are the days of Jose Rizal, Muro Ami, Sa Pusod Ng Dagat, Death Row, Moments of Love and the most successful Let the Love Begin (which has a 2015 remake).

The Richman's Daughter's True Story

The first time we've heard of The Richman's Daughter and that Marian Rivera is to play a lesbian role, we thought it was based on a true story. The storyline sounded familiar. So we looked up the internet and true enough we were right that we have read a news about this already.

Gigi Chao, a 34-year-old heiress to Cecil Chao, is the true story version of The Richman's Daughter.

Civilly married to a fellow woman, Sean Eav, last 2012, Gigi writes a letter to her father after he raised the dowry to £80 million from £39 million. This dowry is meant to attract elligible men who may possibly win Gigi's heart and convince her to marry a man. This is why she wrote to her dad...

"I am responsible for some of this misplaced expectation, because I must have misled you to hope there were other options for me..."

"You know I've had male lovers in the past, and I've had happy, albeit short-lived, relationships."

"However, I do love my partner Sean, who does a good job of looking after me, ensuring I am fed, bathed and warm enough every day, and generally cheering me up to be a happy, jolly girl. She is a large part of my life, and I am a better person because of her.

"Now, I'm not asking you to be best of friends; however, it would mean the world to me if you could just not be so terrified of her, and treat her like a normal, dignified human being."

Gigi, after her father's dowry raise announcement, posted on her Facebook account.

"Dear men looking for money or baby-oven, I'm not your woman, your emails/messages will not be appreciated, and will be regarded as idiotic and offensive. Please stop bothering me. Send your love to Dr. Cecil Chao as he is the one attracted your attention."

Highlights of Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw Trailer

GMA Network has released its full trailer of Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw. The Outsider lists down some of the highlights of this trailer...

  • CHEMISTRY. There's definitely chemistry between Marian Rivera and Alden Richards despite their age. Their acting pulls the age off.
  • HD. If it's just for the trailer, then the trailer is great in high definition. GMA Network must realize that ABS-CBN has been using HD cameras already for their primetime soap operas. Carmela, if it is ever a good story, deserves HD full-length.
  • CASTING. The cast is good so far. Especially the grandmother role of Ms. Laurice Guillen. It will definitely leave a mark to the audience.
  • ROI VINZON. Looks like this is yet another role that people remember of him.
So here's the trailer.

The Look of Marian Rivera Walking in ABS-CBN Compound

PEP.ph published a video blog with Marian Rivera walking down the hall of ABS-CBN compound. It's interesting to watch her reaction while in it.

Watch the video via Pep.ph and see her reaction. While walking, the guard asks her name but Ai-ai De Las Alas defends her jokingly.

Fans of Marian Rivera will surely get nervous after seeing her reaction. But for the ones who are secure that she is genuinely Kapuso, it's a no-brainer.

Will Marian Rivera's Possible Network Transfer Be Wise?

"Hanggang August pa po ang kontrata ko sa GMA at bilang respeto po sa GMA, e, GMA muna po ako." -Marian Rivera

Now that Marian Rivera has changed her manager from Popoy Caritativo to Tony Tuviera, fans can expect more changes even in her career path. In the past weeks, rumor had it that she was transferring to ABS-CBN. That was the reason why The Outsider wrote an entry entitled The Pros & Cons of Marian Rivera's Network Transfer. It may not be true at this moment, GMA Network's primetime queen leaves the possibility open.

Watch this video for her interview about leaving Popoy Caritativo for new manager Tony Tuviera.

Come August-- when her contract with GMA Network expires, we will all find out if Marian Rivera will make a big shift for a network transfer. It seems to us like she's reached the path of Richard Gutierrez. They've all managed to be kings and queens in GMA Network, have done various roles that left a mark to the viewing public. It's just really a reality that everyone comes to a point of wanting change.

But for celebrities like Marian Rivera who has reached a peak of success in showbiz via GMA Network, will it be wise for her to actually venture to new grounds, ABS-CBN at that, where the queen's spot is highly-coveted by too many of them. Note that the 'many' we're talking about are very much deserving.

Will Tony Tuviera's management lead her to leave GMA Network? With the profile of Tony Tuviera of APT & TAPE, Inc, he's most likely to make Marian stick with GMA where most of Tuviera company's shows are also aired i.e. Eat Bulaga and The Ryzza Mae Show. Do you remember Marian's afternoon shows after Eat Bulaga before? It was actually under TAPE, Inc. Proof that it was them who really started her career. But this is not at all an assurance that she's remaining a Kapuso.

So we question: will Marian Rivera's possible network transfer in the future be wise?

The Pros & Cons Of Marian Rivera's Network Transfer

Marinel R. Cruz, Inquirer.net correspondent, published today that Marian Rivera's camp may have started negotiating with other networks.

Whether or not it's true, we'd like to present to you the some of the considerable PROS and the CONS, the negative effects should she and manager Popoy Caritativo decide to leave GMA Network.

Some Pros:
*Should she transfer to ABS-CBN, she will have a chance to earn for herself sure blockbuster films be it paired with The John Lloyd Cruz or Piolo Pascual.
*Should she transfer to ABS-CBN, she will gain more commercials on TV.
*Should she transfer to TV5, she'll certainly be paired with Derek Ramsay, the only legit leading man in terms of following that the network has.
*potential acting award for movies via Star Cinema production

Some Cons:
*Should she transfer to ABS-CBN, she will lose most of her fans from the Kapuso network. But just like Angel Locsin, she may gain a new set of followers from the Kapamilya end.
*Should she transfer to ABS-CBN, expect that she will only have one soap opera in two years.
*Should she transfer to TV5, she'll put on her back a heavy burden to carry--to lift TV5 ratings up!
*Should she transfer to ABS-CBN, most people would view her as 'walang utang na loob' because it was GMA Network who actually brought her up as an actress.

She's most likely to stay with the network. But managers, not actors, are so unpredictable these days. True, Marian Rivera will have way more opportunities to earn big finance and reputation-wise in ABS-CBN, but she can't lose her HUGE STAR status she's earned and worked hard over GMA Network. She should learn from The Claudine Barretto, with all due respect. Lesson learned from that is when you became a really big star in one network, you'd rather stay there.

The New Extra Challenge Bullet Review

With the new and improved version of Extra Challenge, we have a few words to say about it. Before anything else, let it be told that it is indeed fresher and bigger. Better? It's subjective.

The PLUS Points:
  • Adapting the brand of the old one is wise. They didn't just improve the challenges, they also stuck with the old style which is to add a comic part--Ethel Booba before, Boobay this time.
  • Editing is way better than Fear Factor. It actually makes the show!
  • Musical scoring adds up to the excitement of the show.
  • Boobay is funnier than Ethel Booba. We just don't know on tonight's episode when he had a squabble with Karen De Los Reyes.
  • Better and bigger challenges.
  • The X Platform makes the new version unique and better. Add to that the excitement that the money bets build up among contestants.
  • The timeslot is perfect, just the same time everyone in the family can sit together and watch.
  • Wide screen mode makes the show look theatrical and high quality.

The MINUS Points:
  • Actual spot hosting is too 'low-pitch' that it doesn't sound like it's Extra Challenge most of the time. Richard Gutierrez may be too concerned with his image that he maintains his low-pitch voice. Not that we want him to sound like Paolo Bediones but the principle behind it is voice that communicates PASSION and ENERGY. Most of the time, Richard G's tone sounds tired and un-excited especially when the show ends. It's a consistent observation after two weeks of airing.
  • Same with Marian Rivera. More fast-paced energy hopefully. Good thing Boobay is there.

Warning:
Boobay, wag palakihin ang ulo!

So far, TheOutsider has been enjoying the show. But the weak spots are too obvious we can't let go of it without saying it. Good job to the TEAM they are able to compensate really well with the weaknesses.

3 Reasons Why Rafael Rosell Will Rise As Kapuso

Yes, Rafael Rosell is now officially a Kapuso. Despite the fact that GMA 7 has not released an official statement or update about this, Rafael Rosell's tweets make it already obvious.

We've already made a feature about him in the past days about his role in Temptation of Wife. And now that it's more like it, he's most likely landing the role of one of the leading men in the Pinoy remake of this koreanovela.

But we're not here to talk about his projects and all. We're here to give you three reasons why Rafael Rosell will rise as a Kapuso. Here we go...

1. He has the 'it.' ABS-CBN would not have invested in him had he not have that 'it' factor. The reason why he's still here is because he has it. He's a character actor. He has played roles effectively as a Kapamilya. He's one who does roles with so much passion. Put him anywhere and he can deliver.

2. He's managed by Marian Rivera's manager. Nuff said!

3. He's a Star Magic talent. And you know the drill… Wherever you put them, they will soar for as long as they'll do their part! Credits to their originating training management--Star Magic.

To Mr. Rafael Rosell, the newest Kapuso, haters will follow you but that's the way it goes. We wish you the best!

Why Kapuso-to-be Rafael Rosell Is For RH Bill

His recent tweets have been about RH Bill. No mention of a new season in his life, a new chapter, or anything that leads to a thought of transferring to a new network. Rafael Rosell, one of Star Magic's priced possessions, is slated to take on a new path in his life, a change of network.

And while everyone else is waiting for that big interview about his transfer, we've decided to share his views on the recent political fuss--the RH BILL and how he shares the same feeling with blogger

RH Bill: Pros and Cons

Okay so I'm done with the definition and the history of the RH Bill, I've also discussed where it stands now with the current Aquino administration but I feel that I need to elaborate the implications that the bill comes with. So far there are 14 guiding principles that serve as the framework of the RH Bill, if I put all of that in here I will be wasting both your time and mine since I know you won't be reading it. So instead of enumerating each of the bill's principles, I decided to weigh in its pros and cons so in that way, it is interesting and stimulating at the same time!

I have to be honest, I had a pretty hard time being objective with this one since as you may have guessed by now, I am definitely pro-RH Bill but nevertheless here is what I have so far:

PROS

1. It gives a person freedom to choose whatever he wants
2. It is 100% pro-chance
3. It will greatly contribute to the prevention of HIV and Aids
4. It will help control the country's booming population
5. It will increase awareness regarding responsible parenthood
6. It will secure and promote both women's and children's rights
7. It will provide health care services for the poor and the marginalized
8. It will provide adolescents enough information about all the dangers of engaging in pre-marital sex
9. …and hopefully this will decrease the number of unwanted pregnancies that leads to abortion

CONS

1. It grants easier access to contraceptives even for adolescents
2. It will definitely increase the percentage of couples engaging in pre-marital sex

So this is basically it. This is all that I can think of. I told you I would have a hard time enumerating the different disadvantages of the RH Bill because I can only think of few (By few, I literally mean two). This does not make me a bad Catholic or anti-life but this makes me realistic. Hello people! You need to open your eyes and realize that we need to do something to control the rapid increase of our population. I know that it does go against the will of our Father but think about it, the entire country is suffering because of other people’s lack of knowledge about these certain things.

You may think I am being mean or something but I get irritated whenever I see couples crying on national television, complaining that they do not have enough money to support their ten kids. Then after which the wife will say, “sana tulungan po kami ng panginoong Diyos.” Well then, they should have thought about that before deciding to have so many children. God is there to guide us all the way but it is still up to us to make our own decisions in life. These people (the poor and the marginalized) need the RH Bill to further broaden their knowledge regarding responsible parenthood and sex in general. People would often joke about these kinds of situations and say “wala kasi silang magawa kaya nagaanak nalang sila.” That is not a valid excuse! We do our part in the society now it is time for them to do the same thing. ★
Rosell surely received various reactions from his followers when he tweeted this. But just like any other ordinary person, he too has his own opinion and he is, like the cliche goes, entitled to his own. To each his own as they say.

On the other hand, the showbiz world is definitely looking out for him, waiting for that appearance to finally announce his new path. Is this final? PEP.ph reported that he's doing a short role in Aso Ni San Roque and after that a major role alongside Marian Rivera in the Pinoy remake of Temptation Of Wife with Dennis Trillo and Alessandra De Rossi. If this materializes, this primetime soap will surely capture a wide viewership given the acting prowess of the Trillo, De Rossi, and Rosell along with the primetime dominance of Rivera.

Is Rafael Rosell really becoming a Kapuso? Or is it another "Diether Ocampo" stunt? One thing is certain, he's for RH Bill. We wonder who else are and otherwise.

Will Marian Rivera's Temptation Of Wife Be Tempting?

News has it that Marian Rivera alongside Dennis Trillo have been chosen to be lead cast in the Filipino remake of Korean drama Temptation Of Wife. Will it tempt viewers to watch it or otherwise?

In a PEP Alert released yesterday, it was announced that GMA Network Entertainment Department is planning to showcase another Koreanovela remake this year after Coffee Prince remake has been announced days ago. It can be remembered that Temptation Of Wife garnered very high ratings when it was shown in the afternoon slot. After months, it was replayed and surprisingly hit the primetime slot. Despite the fact that it was a replay, it still garnered remarkable ratings.

A simple but complex story of romance, friendship and betrayal. Simple because it revolves around three major characters--the lead actress as wife, the lead actor as husband, and the supporting actress as mistress and bestfriend. Complex because as her husband chooses to kill her, she manages to survive and come back as the lookalike but in reality she was still the wife.
Watch the old trailer of Temptation Of Wife

Will Marian Rivera be able to portray the subtly angry and bitter character of the wife? Will their team up as partners avenging each other be a good recipe in primetime viewing?

From the comments at pep.ph, people seem to have different opinions not only about the show but also about the cast.

We question… Will this be a good follow-up for both Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo as they return in Kapuso primetime?
