You're My Boss, Star Cinema's way of putting that GMA Films Sucks!

If anything, You're My Boss is surely not a spinoff of GMA Films flop movie My Lady Boss (oh did I say flop coz almost all movies they had were flop after they stopped producing epic movies). Starring the Toni Gonzaga and the leading man 'who needs a leading lady to pull up the gross income' Coco Martin, You're My Boss is something to watch out for this 2015 based on trailers.

As excited as we are to watch this movie, it's undeniable that this film has semblance with My Lady Boss which starred Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez. If you remember, that movie was a teamup that people looked forward to except that it was delayed because of the Sarah Lahbati-GMA Network controversy. GMA Films, however, decided to release the film despite unsettled matters. Because of such, the movie went nowhere aside from the fact that the film outfit really lacks a lot of things in terms of making movies popular. (to clarify, Marian Rivera was not at fault at all... Just in case Marianknights would react)

My Lady Boss earned more than P20million... only! That's a run of two weeks. The Toni-Coco starrer will make history for sure. But as you see the semblance, it makes you think that Star Cinema's upcoming movie is their way of putting that GMA Films sucks big time in wasting great concepts by doing a really bad execution both in filmmaking and promotions.

As an outsider, whether Star Cinema intends to 'in your face' GMA Films or not, we prefer to think that GMA Films really sucks big time! Wasted concepts. Wasted money. Wasted films. Gone are the days of Jose Rizal, Muro Ami, Sa Pusod Ng Dagat, Death Row, Moments of Love and the most successful Let the Love Begin (which has a 2015 remake).

Sarah Lahbati's Useless Battle: Open Letter To Her

FACT: Sarah Lahbati did a very impressive performance in Indio's pilot episode. TRUTH BUT PAST: She's the BIGGEST THING for 2013 that Philippine showbiz is to see. But that remains to be a prediction of the past because she engaged herself into a battle, a plight against the network that developed her, against the network that has big plans for her this 2013.

Speculation: Either she couldn't wait longer for a bigger break or she has something urgent/life-changing that she had to lie.

REGRETS for Philippine showbiz as we were to see a rising star who would take the place Angel Locsin left in GMA. She's a total package and has proven herself better than all who went ahead of her because she can do everything, sing, dance, act. And she can act well. Not only that she can do everything, she also has IT. The beauty and the brain and the talent and the skills. What she doesn't have though is what would make others last: CHARACTER.

Speculation: It could be that she was influenced by people around, hence, the Twitter scandal.

Truth: Although what she did was awful, we pity her. She was supposed to be the BIG THING for 2013. The Outsider was one of her greatest believers. But the Twitter ranting was a turnoff.

To Ms. Sarah Lahbati, take this from the Outsider:

We believed in you and your talent. But this Twitter ranting was a major turnoff. You may be telling the truth or not, GMA Artist Center may have had real issues, the ultimate TRUTH remains: what you did on Twitter was unbecoming of an artist.

We wish you well. We can only dream of what you could have been, the costume you were supposed to wear that would mark in televiewers' hearts, the scenes that made people cry. Could have beens!

It was and is a useless battle. Choose your allies Ms. Lahbati. Because right now, your allies historically have brought people down.

Our hope is that you would apologize and be back with your network so that all would be well and you would land on the step that you were supposed to be, the step of MAJOR STARDOM.

The Curios Case Of Sarah Lahbati

2013 was supposed to be Sarah Lahbati's year but she decided to turn it down.

The worst time to leave the country and study abroad is when your showbiz career is about to take its peak! A launching movie that's sure to get people's attention via Seduction and a major role as the biggest epic series starts via Indio. That's what Sarah Lahbati left behind--a promising bigger break that a lot of artists have been waiting for.

To begin with, all the pains and undertakings that an artist must undergo to get to where she was supposed to be would be things anyone would be willing to take. Character. That's how one survives showbiz despite seeing things that may not necessarily seem beneficial to himself/herself for the moment but along the way people will see it. Take Judy Ann Santos. She's one whom we're certain who also had pains and complaints if only she verbalized them. But she chose to honor to whom honor is due--her bosses. She chose to speak up only to the right people--her manager and her bosses in ABS-CBN. This is why until now, her network still gives her what she well deserves, a good and flourishing career despite change of seasons.

To Sarah Lahbati, we may not know exactly what you went through, but lady, verbalizing complaints via TWITTER is unprofessional and crass (opposite of classy). No one has the right to speak against you but to say negative things on Twitter against your boss--your network, is not at all honorable. Taking it into the negotiating table would have been better. If it didn't work, taking it to the court would have sounded better on your end.

Not taking sides, but as an outsider, celebrities ought to promote professionalism in a country where citizens become desensitised with what their 'idols' do. We don't want a generation of young people eventually tweeting against their bosses because they saw what you did.

To GMA Network, it's just wise not to give in to any of your celebrity's unprofessionalism. This is not a case of whether you treat your artists well or not. Not a case of whether ABS-CBN or TV5 are better in handling artists. This is a case of promoting professionalism among artists to benefit all networks.

To Ms. Sarah Lahbati, it does not matter if you walked out or not. It does not matter if they mistreated you or not. What matters is you, your character, how you deal with important matters such as this one. Twitter can be real damaging sweetheart! Taking your complaints there is out of class and not at all a good thing to teach your fans, definitely not. So whether you turn the coin to your side or not, your act of tweeting those statements is not commendable. Not what this industry needs. Because this is not about fighting for your rights Sarah Lahbati, this is about your character and how you should fought for both your rights and your character by doing it professionally.

Impressions From The Seduction Trailer

Regal Films could be starting 2013 with a bang via its upcoming film Seduction. Starring Richard Gutierrez, Sarah Lahbati, and Solenn Heusaff, Seduction is set to be released January 2013.

The Outsider has a few impressions...

*Trailer does not highlight the acting of the three actors. It would be better if Regal Films would release another trailer with a few acting scenes. This is fundamental because that's what the moviemakers promised with this one, that it's going to be a breakthrough role for Richard Gutierrez acting-wise.

*Sarah Lahbati is on a roll! It's her first major film but what a way to take on the silver screen. Here's hoping that this will be a remarkable take for her.

*Solenn is just Solenn. The role fits her well.

Will Seduction be able to seduce the money to come in for a blockbuster hit this 2013? For one, we know that this is going to attract moviegoers for its sexy theme. But judging the scenes from the trailer, they might think twice if they don't see acting scenes worth the money and convincing enough to make the characters look real sexy. Not that this is a sex film but our point is simple: sex is not enough to sell. In the movies, convincing entertainment counts a lot!

We have one hope: that all give justice to director Peque Gallaga in his comeback.

The New Extra Challenge Bullet Review

With the new and improved version of Extra Challenge, we have a few words to say about it. Before anything else, let it be told that it is indeed fresher and bigger. Better? It's subjective.

The PLUS Points:

• Adapting the brand of the old one is wise. They didn't just improve the challenges, they also stuck with the old style which is to add a comic part--Ethel Booba before, Boobay this time.
• Editing is way better than Fear Factor. It actually makes the show!
• Musical scoring adds up to the excitement of the show.
• Boobay is funnier than Ethel Booba. We just don't know on tonight's episode when he had a squabble with Karen De Los Reyes.
• Better and bigger challenges.
• The X Platform makes the new version unique and better. Add to that the excitement that the money bets build up among contestants.
• The timeslot is perfect, just the same time everyone in the family can sit together and watch.
• Wide screen mode makes the show look theatrical and high quality.

The MINUS Points:

• Actual spot hosting is too 'low-pitch' that it doesn't sound like it's Extra Challenge most of the time. Richard Gutierrez may be too concerned with his image that he maintains his low-pitch voice. Not that we want him to sound like Paolo Bediones but the principle behind it is voice that communicates PASSION and ENERGY. Most of the time, Richard G's tone sounds tired and un-excited especially when the show ends. It's a consistent observation after two weeks of airing.
• Same with Marian Rivera. More fast-paced energy hopefully. Good thing Boobay is there.

So far, TheOutsider has been enjoying the show. But the weak spots are too obvious we can't let go of it without saying it. Good job to the TEAM they are able to compensate really well with the weaknesses.
