Delayed Pilot Taping for That's My Amboy Not a Good Sign

In a report by Jun Lalin for Abante, it turns out that the taping of That's My Amboy will start late and that's next year.
Samantala, hindi natuloy kahapon ang first taping day ni Barbie ng new primetime show niya na kung saan ay kapareha pa rin niya si Andre Paras.
It's not a good sign that the cast is not yet complete and they're starting their taping less than two weeks before its pilot... good luck! They're making it their banner primetime soap for the beginning of the year and they're not even preparing big time for it.

It's almost 2016 and they have not released character teaser or story teasers at all. It's almost pilot week for this soap and The Half Sisters is not yet over.

Kapuso fans are looking forward to Barbie Forteza's landing on primetime with Andre Paras but it seems like this will have the same fate as the GabRu starrer Let The Love Begin which was also rushed and not promoted well.

It's The Richman's Daughter vs. Pangako Sayo 2015

So the battle for primetime supremacy is not between remakes Let the Love Begin of GMA Telebabad and upcoming Pangako Sayo of ABS-CBN Primetime Bida. The real battle is between the latter versus lesbian-themed soap opera The Richman's Daughter.

It's not genre versus same genre anymore. It's a battle between stellar casts, between stories that will engage audience more, between twists that will make hold on to their seats. And so far, these two have it based on trailers and writeups.

#TRMD
The Richman's Daughter will pilot next Monday and for sure it will take third slot after Let the Love Begin. Starring Rhian Ramos as Jade, her role will not be the only major one to watch out for but of Chynna Ortaleza's as well. Batchi Luna will certainly resound in households. The butch type of lesbian to be portrayed by Ortaleza will, take it from us, be television's most memorable character this 2015.

#PangakoSaYo2015
This one right here is undisputably gaining a good viewership judging on Youtube views alone of its first trailer. Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are the hottest teenage actors in this generation.

But Star Creatives leveled up the game by going beyond the KathNiel fever and offering viewers a more engaging soap opera. They're doing this by making the storyline execution of the parents also very interesting this time. To be played by Jodi Sta. Maria, Ian Veneracion and Angelika Panganiban as the new Claudia, the first week will surely be something to watch out for. And it will be a display of acting skills as well for these three.

So what makes a remake a better version of the original? We think that Pangako Sayo 2015 is about to answer that question. And we are about to see in our eyes a better version of the old one. We get this idea through its first trailer that opens with a line, "kung inaakala mo alam mo ang kanilang kwento, nagkakamali ka."

Watch the Pangako Sayo trailer one from ABS-CBN Entertainment

It will be one exciting ride on primetime television this season. After this round will come two reality shows. That's another exciting thing.

Kiko Estrada and Kim Rodriguez to star in Family Secrets

Fans of Kiko Estrada and Kim Rodriguez don't have to wait any longer. GMA Network has decided to give them a new project. And according to reports, this one will be on primetime which will be a bit impossible because many shows are lined up.

Anyway, at least fans know they have a show to watch out for. To co-star with them is Gwen Zamora among many others. For one, Kiko Estrada has impressed critics and viewers through his roles in two episodes of Magpakailanman. It's Kim Rodriguez who has to be packaged well for this one. Packaged as a lead star.

Here are some photos.

Lovi Poe and Heart Evangelista in all-star cast Beautiful Stranger

Lovi Poe and Heart Evangelista will soon star in a soap opera together again after many years of not seeing them together from the success of GMA Telebabad's Legacy. The initial title has been released and so far it sounds intriguing-- Beautiful Stranger.

The Interesting Cast
This is the best part of their upcoming soap because it has been a long time since we saw an ensemble like this one. As released in some scoops before, Amy Austria will be part of the cast. Add to that Cristopher De Leon and Cherie Gil.

To be directed by Albert Langitan, director of Rhodora X, this soap opera will air not later than first half of this year if changes will not be made. As a matter of fact, this might replace the supposed timeslot of The Richman's Daughter if the network decides to postpone the lesbian-themed show.

2 Areas Parikoy should Capitalize On

Three episodes done and it seems like Parikoy, the recent addition to GMA Telebabad's lineup, has the making of what can possibly be a soap opera that can run for a year or more.

Yes, you've read it right. Parikoy can qualify to be that TV series that can last long because it can survive without having too many secrets being divulged to keep a series going. This one needs to just showcase the life of a cool priest and just add a twist when the network wants to axe it already.

After watching the first three episodes, here are the following aspects that we think this TV series has to capitalize on.

1. Father Kokoy's speeches/sermons
It seems like this show has given enough time for a scene that would feature Father Kokoy's sermons. It was good that they gave airtime for the priest to deliver his wedding sermon and even featured a part of his baptismal sermon.

If the makers of this show are serious about longevity, they better have a good team of writers who would craft his sermons. This team has to research sermons that have been delivered by well-loved preachers. Try Bo Sanchez.

2. Moments every episode
Remember the second episode when he had to bid goodbye as he got reassigned to another parish? Not that he has to transfer every episode. But every episode should have at least that 'moment' which will move the audience. When that departing scene came out on the second night, tweets about how people got moved with that flooded the timeline.

Parikoy stands true to its label as a faithserye if you judge it according to its first three episodes. Hopefully writers will be able to pull this off for a long run. Our hope for this TV show is that it will last for two years or more.

The Richman's Daughter's True Story

The first time we've heard of The Richman's Daughter and that Marian Rivera is to play a lesbian role, we thought it was based on a true story. The storyline sounded familiar. So we looked up the internet and true enough we were right that we have read a news about this already.

Gigi Chao, a 34-year-old heiress to Cecil Chao, is the true story version of The Richman's Daughter.

Civilly married to a fellow woman, Sean Eav, last 2012, Gigi writes a letter to her father after he raised the dowry to £80 million from £39 million. This dowry is meant to attract elligible men who may possibly win Gigi's heart and convince her to marry a man. This is why she wrote to her dad...

"I am responsible for some of this misplaced expectation, because I must have misled you to hope there were other options for me..."

"You know I've had male lovers in the past, and I've had happy, albeit short-lived, relationships."

"However, I do love my partner Sean, who does a good job of looking after me, ensuring I am fed, bathed and warm enough every day, and generally cheering me up to be a happy, jolly girl. She is a large part of my life, and I am a better person because of her.

"Now, I'm not asking you to be best of friends; however, it would mean the world to me if you could just not be so terrified of her, and treat her like a normal, dignified human being."

Gigi, after her father's dowry raise announcement, posted on her Facebook account.

"Dear men looking for money or baby-oven, I'm not your woman, your emails/messages will not be appreciated, and will be regarded as idiotic and offensive. Please stop bothering me. Send your love to Dr. Cecil Chao as he is the one attracted your attention."

Chynna Ortaleza added as Cast of The Richman's Daughter

While Chynna Ortaleza is still playing a supporting role in GMA Telebabad's Second Chances, she's now most likely added as one of the cast members of The Richman's Daughter.

If this gets confirmed, the question is: will she replace someone?

An actress as good as her should really land a good and big role in a new soap like The Richman's Daughter-- a soap which will allow Marian Rivera portray a lesbian role.

In the tweet exchange between the soap opera's headwriter Suzette Doctolero and Ortaleza, they were both excited for the project.

If indeed true, The Outsider is happy for Chynna Ortaleza. About time she gets a lead role.

Highlights of Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw Trailer

GMA Network has released its full trailer of Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw. The Outsider lists down some of the highlights of this trailer...

  • CHEMISTRY. There's definitely chemistry between Marian Rivera and Alden Richards despite their age. Their acting pulls the age off.
  • HD. If it's just for the trailer, then the trailer is great in high definition. GMA Network must realize that ABS-CBN has been using HD cameras already for their primetime soap operas. Carmela, if it is ever a good story, deserves HD full-length.
  • CASTING. The cast is good so far. Especially the grandmother role of Ms. Laurice Guillen. It will definitely leave a mark to the audience.
  • ROI VINZON. Looks like this is yet another role that people remember of him.
So here's the trailer.
