The FB Post that Invites AlDub Fans to War?

Fanpage called Kapamilya Network with thousands of likers posted a photo with a not-so-good-sounding caption.

With a photo taken from the Saturday episode of It's Showtime featuring ABS-CBN's famous love teams-- JaDine, KathNiel, LizQuen, the fanpage compared that scene to the AlDub tandem of Eat Bulaga.

Text version of the caption:
"Not your 20 million tweets can ever beat World Class Performances and World Class Tandems."

What is disturbing about this post?
It's not really the war this fanpage is trying to have against the fans of AlDub. What's so disturbing is the standard of these people when it comes to 'world class performances' so to speak.

First of all, this post is not to say that the AlDub tandem is world class. Secondly, this post is not to defend them.

This post is to pose a major question: what's a world class performance?

Obviously, to say that the production number of these tandems were world class seems so disturbing.

Watch the prod here

No offense meant but James Reid and Nadine Lustre can somehow qualify to be world-class performers because they can really sing and dance. Not to say that LizQuen and KathNiel are less of a people but just to appreciate the talent of only one tandem.

For charisma and fan base, we give it to KathNiel and LizQuen to appease the others.

But really this post is about to launch a war. But AlDub fans are better than this. They should know when to speak up and when to let it pass. This one-- let it pass!

Who is Pangako Sa 'Yo Remake For?

After watching last night's (June 15, 2015) episode of Pangako Sa 'Yo, we realized something. This 2015 remake is not exactly for the ones who have watched it 15 years ago. It's a classic story from two decades ago being retold for today's generation.

It's not for those who at their teens enjoyed the whirlwind romance of Angelo and Yna played by Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa. It's for those who want to story itself but told in this generation's style, culture and timeline.

So after realizing this, we've come up with a guide for dummies on HOW NOT TO WATCH PANGAKO SA YO Remake:

  1. Do not look for Jericho Rosales & Kristine Hermosa schools of acting. Gone are the days of the emotional guy whose tears are easy to fall care of Echo himself. This is now Daniel Padilla's turn to showcase the character he perceives from the script. Gone are the days of the deep thinking and strong but knows-her-place look of Kristine Hermosa. This is now Kathryn Bernardo's turn of depicting a character she thinks who Yna is. Give it to them.
  2. Do not stop yourself from getting 'kilig'. Don't be age-conscious and say you're too old to feel something from the latest tandem-- KathNiel. It's ok. You are not alone. After that episode which featured Daniel Padilla as Angelo directly telling Yna that he likes her, just think about the countless scenes still to come. So be ready to be yourself.
  3. Do not question the placement of characters and their timeline. Some if not most of you who've seen the original piece may be wondering why the character of Mr. P came out real soon. Now we're not sure if he's the Tony Banks (played by Ricky Davao) but his character didn't appear early on. Leave it to the writers though as to how they want to tell the story. It's their script, it's their timeline.
  4. Do not expect Tata Isko to be as phenomenal as before. It was the actor himself at that time that made the character popular. Now we don't believe Jericho Rosales was offered that role for the remake. You know ABS-CBN and their promotional schemes.
  5. Do not wait for the Claudia vs. Amor Powers show before you watch Pangako Sa Yo 2015. The soap opera is now getting high ratings despite not having them yet. We tell you, this remake will raise the bar in terms of the romance between characters Angelo and Yna. Unlike the original which was more me-and-you-against-the-world serious type scenes, this one will have more scenes that will put you back to your teenage years. The writers will make sure you fall in love with the tandem first before the world goes against them brutally.
We certainly have comments here and there like how Angelica Panganiban's portrayal of Claudia is similar to her character portrayal in the movie Beauty in a Bottle. But we choose to say the least of that and just enjoy the remake.

Meanwhile, enjoy this throwback scene of Amor Powers versus Claudia Buenavista.

It's The Richman's Daughter vs. Pangako Sayo 2015

So the battle for primetime supremacy is not between remakes Let the Love Begin of GMA Telebabad and upcoming Pangako Sayo of ABS-CBN Primetime Bida. The real battle is between the latter versus lesbian-themed soap opera The Richman's Daughter.

It's not genre versus same genre anymore. It's a battle between stellar casts, between stories that will engage audience more, between twists that will make hold on to their seats. And so far, these two have it based on trailers and writeups.

#TRMD
The Richman's Daughter will pilot next Monday and for sure it will take third slot after Let the Love Begin. Starring Rhian Ramos as Jade, her role will not be the only major one to watch out for but of Chynna Ortaleza's as well. Batchi Luna will certainly resound in households. The butch type of lesbian to be portrayed by Ortaleza will, take it from us, be television's most memorable character this 2015.

#PangakoSaYo2015
This one right here is undisputably gaining a good viewership judging on Youtube views alone of its first trailer. Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are the hottest teenage actors in this generation.

But Star Creatives leveled up the game by going beyond the KathNiel fever and offering viewers a more engaging soap opera. They're doing this by making the storyline execution of the parents also very interesting this time. To be played by Jodi Sta. Maria, Ian Veneracion and Angelika Panganiban as the new Claudia, the first week will surely be something to watch out for. And it will be a display of acting skills as well for these three.

So what makes a remake a better version of the original? We think that Pangako Sayo 2015 is about to answer that question. And we are about to see in our eyes a better version of the old one. We get this idea through its first trailer that opens with a line, "kung inaakala mo alam mo ang kanilang kwento, nagkakamali ka."

It will be one exciting ride on primetime television this season. After this round will come two reality shows. That's another exciting thing.
