ABS-CBN knows how to make things viral. Make a production number that has appeal to the viewers, make sure it has been trensing in the past days before the prod, and post it on Youtube and wonders come instantly. The recent: Twerk It Like Miley lipsync production number featuring Enrique Gil and Maja Salvador.
In less than a week, this video has gained almost three million views on Youtube. That's gigantic especially when you compare it to any viral video from GMA Network's Youtube page which may have required months or a year for it to reach millions of views.
Starring Jericho Rosales, Maja Salvador and Paulo Avelino, Bridges of Love aired its pilot episode last night. And here are our three impressions of the latest soap opera.
1. Jericho Rosales is given another venue to act but this time with depth.
It's not some love team role that he had in his early years but it's a piece where he can prove to the viewers that he deserves to remain on TV unlike other actors who live by the name of being an actor alone. Thankfully, the role is a protagonist lead unlike his character in The Legal Wife.
2. Storytelling had a good flow. It wasn't hard to follow. The flashbacks were done in style. Thanks to the headwriter BJ Amahan who also did well in the storyline. His name can not be fogotten since he was part of the Magkaribal team that made the tandem Derek-Gretchen hot.
3. We have yet to see if this material fits Maja Salvador. Some observations:
*Cinematography was great.
*The scenes with the little brothers were well-shot.
*SPG all throughout so seems like this is a for-adult soap opera.
Ina, Kapatid, Anak last night was intense. Revelations brought tension at a high intensity making the soap more worth-watching. The story thickens as the rivalry between Maja Salvador's and Kim Chiu's characters get serious. But what's this issue that a real match is ongoing... Seriously?
News has it that Gerald Anderson has been going out with Maja Salvador. Maja being one of Kim Chiu's confidante was expected by the latter to at least not consider Anderson to be a boyfriend. But what can they do?
To us, we smell something fishy. The issue comes out weekend before a rival show is about to start which is Indio. Interestingly, showbiz talk shows of ABS-CBN also highlighted the issue over the weekend before an episode of Ina, Kapatid, Anak featured their characters getting into a major fight after a revelation. That was last night! Could it be? Could it be?
We focus on the show. Ina, Kapatid, Anak has been successful in giving Kapamilya fans a new show to watch after Walang Hanggan. The story is also written well and the scenes are edgy. So no need to have cheap PR stunts.
