What if AlDub was Cast to ONE TRUE LOVE?
Some of you may have not known yet that Alden Richards was the lead actor for well-acclaimed soap opera entitled One True Love. His partner was Louise De Los Reyes at that time. But what if it was Maine 'Yaya Dub' Mendoza as Elize?
We won't really know until we see it ourselves. So while the possibility of it is not even a hint, we made a video about it... Alden Richards & Maine Mendoza in... One True Love Once Again.

Plus Points for today's Sunday All Stars episode
A week before all Sunday variety shows go off air in lieu of PacMan fight, Sunday All Stars gave it a good fight today. So while we maintain our side that GMA Network should make their Sunday variety show a primetime one, we also think that efforts to improve it have been evident. Let's enumerate them.
*Blending opening number featuring the songs of Manny Pacquiao was a good one. It made the 'masa' songs sound classy. Thanks to Asia's Songbird who headed the bandwagon of singers. The people behind SAS have realized that the Glee-ish production numbers (vocal mixing) work for them. Plus their singers have been good in blending and harmony.
*Let the Love Begin launch was surprisingly major. Unlike previous soap opera launches, this one was not too corny and just fit for a launch. We were surprised with Ruru Madrid. He can sing with Gabbi Garcia who obviously has talent in that department.
*Hands down to the LipSync Battle Showdown. Man that was funny, entertaining and (importantly) excellent. GMA Network should invest on a SAS National Tour and feature production numbers such as this one with the same artists from this episode. It's first and unique from SAS so they won't be labeled as copycats of the already institution ASAP.
*Rita Daniela's album launch was also excellent. Make her a BIG star please. Give her movies.
*Regine Velasquez-Alcasid did an awesome job with that back-to-back production number. Happy birthday! We loved the part when Lovi, Regine, & Jaya were joking around each other. Made viewers feel like they're a happy family.
*SAS Prime was a triple treat today unlile other Sundays that it didn't feel like such. Alden Richards should consistently dance like that. Other days he dances like he's in Bubble Gang not in a variety show.
*Julian Trono. This teenage boy has something great to offer to the industry. Push his career further because people deserve to see his sing&dance combo talent.
*Lights were good today. Song choices were fierce today.
So now the question is: are they ready to move to a 12noon slot?
Our take: LET THEM STAY AT THIS (2PM) TIMESLOT FOREVER. That way the ones watching ASAP can tune in to SAS after. Adds up more viewers right?
It's really not about being number two at all. It's now about getting more viewers because as they improve more, more people deserve to watch excellent production numbers.

Alden Richards & Alessandra De Rossi for a GMA Films Movie?
A romantic-comedy film for Alden Richards & Alessandra De Rossi under GMA Films to be directed by Andoy Ranay. Yes!
The headline is indeed interesting but it ends there. Unless of course the bosses behind GMA Films and the creative team would be brilliant enough to actually notice that this idea can actually become a big hit!Given the right material, a comic role for Alessandra De Rossi who has been waiting and waiting and finally a younger guy comes along who meets the man of his dreams only younger. No conflict on third party is needed. The conflict can just focus on the lady's hard time to accept that she can't be old enough for the guy when it's true love.
Typical, age doesn't matter. But given a great script and a great director, this one will be a new movie to watch out for.
Get a glimpse of their possible onscreen chemistry by watching this clip from Basta Everyday Happy where De Rossi interviews Richards.

Primetime Awards Nominees for August 2012
This week, primetime soaps have been heating up. But with all the shows in primetime for both Kapamilya and Kapuso, there are four that stand out and we list them down according to quality.
1) Walang HangganAlmost everyone's hooked to this. When it started, it seemed as if it was a declaration, a claiming in the wind that this show would indeed be everlasting. True enough, it looks like it won't end after all. Even as it was extended for a longer time, the way the show gets people glued at their TV sets is impressive. If not for the acting of both the veterans and the slightly experienced young actors/actresses, the show would have been ended earlier.
At first, the story was consistently good. But now that they're trying to prolong it, the show is on a dangerous route. But fans don't notice it at all so they're still safe.
2) One True Love
Who would expect that this 'filler' soap from GMA 7 would hit #1 eventually even just for a night? Despite the fact that it's a high-rating soap, Walang Hanggan was a show to beat. But because of the revelations on Thursday, more Pinoy viewers obviously wanted to see how good Raymond Bagatsing and Alden Richard's performances will be when they meet again, this time with Bagatsing's awareness that he's the dad to Soyti.
The show started good but not as engaging as Walang Hanggan, hence, the latter remains on top of the game. But script-wise, this soap deserves to be released as a novel. Kudos to the scriptwriters!
3) Luna Blanca
If not for Camille Prats' acting, this show would be gone. The two kids who played little Luna and Blanca did well but the script wasn't written to be that engaging. However, when it flipped to book two, the show gathered more viewers. Scenes improved to be more thrilling. All the more when the entry of Barbie Forteza as the impersonator came out. She proved to be an actress here in this role.
The major reason why it comes before the more popular Princess and I is because of its well-executed shots and well-thought concept.
4) Princess and I
Ask a lot of Kapamilya fans who love Walang Hanggan if they like the show that comes before it. Most of them would tell you that they don't. It's nothing against the script, the concept, the actors. It's just that Princess and I is more for young viewers and it fails in pleasing the older ones. But popularity-wise, Princess and I is a homerun!
For a time, we wondered why Daniel Padilla became a big name all of a sudden. When we watched it, we didn't wonder anymore. Not that he's a good actor. Not that he's a good singer. Not that he's the most handsome newcomer. Because in all those aspects, he has yet to work on them big time. But only because of his natural charisma! He should be thankful for it.
When we say quality, we're talking about the consistency of script, portrayal of characters, popularity, chemistry in all aspects, and convincing storyline even when all is fiction.
As an entry, we'll include TV5's Enchanted Garden in some of the categories for the sake of including all three major networks.
So as we go, let's pretend that weekend is going to be the Primetime Awards Night for the top four primetime soaps. Get your votes counted.
Please wait as the POLL WIDGETS load.

Network War on MEGA, Team GMA Lacks Votes
Could it be that GMA Network is just lack of supporters who usually go online or they really are behind in terms of fans?
This is the question we all have to ask when it comes to the following for GMA. This after Showbiz Outsider recently monitored the results for Mega Magazine's Network War online poll. As of presstime, Team ABSCBN on MEGA has garnered 81% of votes with 148,626 votes. Compare this to Team GMA on MEGA with 35,971 votes which only comprises the 19% over a total of 184,597 votes.
One of Team GMA's featured artist is rising Kapuso hearthrob Alden Richards who is proving his worth in the ongoing primetime series One True Love. Competing against him in the male category is Xian Lim, who undeniably has gotten the hearts of televiewers after being screened with Kim Chiu. As to his acting, he's yet to prove it when he's out of Kim Chiu's security blanket.
Team GMA on MEGA is significantly lagging behind Team ABSCBN on MEGA. Will Kapuso fans allow this to happen? Or are Kapamilya fans that strong a force that they're leading the votes?
