Kapamilya Late Primetime Shows Shaky on KANTAR ratings?

It's interesting how the primetime ratings in KANTAR has dramatically changed these past days. If you recall, ABS-CBN has been leading in the timeslot with huge gap from its competing soap operas in GMA Network. This Monday, things have changed…

It was usually a gap of 10-20% in the ratings with Kapamilya soap operas on the lead. When Temptation Of Wife, in the past weeks, has been changed from one schedule to another, it surprisingly remained high in ratings. Well the only show it can't get close in the fight is Ina, Kapatid, Anak. But when it competes with A Beautiful Affair, there are times TOW would win. When competing with Kahit Puso'y Masugatan, no doubt the Dennis-Marian-Glaiza starred always leads.

So everyone was intrigued with the concept of Pahiram Ng Sandali, at least from the end of the Kapuso citizens. When it had its pilot night, it registered 17.5% in KANTAR ratings. It went head to head with A Beautiful Affair. So we expected that the Dingdong-Lorna-Max-Cristopher-Alessandra starrer would have ratings much lower than the John Lloyd-Bea starred. To our surprise, A Beautiful Affair won but only with 19.3%, just 1.8% gap.

It's a big surprise because we predicted ABA to be the highest rater this season. It turns out that Ina, Kapatid, Anak is the "IT" soap for this season and all the other Kapamilya shows (except Princess and I) are on a shaky ground in the national ratings.

If GMA Network is wise enough, they would surely grab this season a chance to soar high in the national ratings and they'd exert extra effort to get their shows watched. Imagine, it's just a gap of 1-5% lately. That's unusual! It could be that the people in the provinces have been sleeping early and more Kapuso fans stay awake at that time. Or it could be that Kapuso soap operas in late primetime have been really capturing the hearts of the provincial viewers in Visayas and Mindanao.

What do you think?

PS. We excluded Princess and I in the picture for certain reasons that we would explain in the next feature.
