Since it's the top trending topic today, The Outsider would like to ride on but we'll add a twist to it. Instead of wishing for ourselves, let's make a wish list for TV networks: ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and TV5.

#My2015WishList for ABS-CBN

• That KRIS TV continues to deliver stories that feature good restaurants in the country not just in the metro.
• That they'll keep on airing Superbook in such a good timeslot.
• That they would put some restrictions on Vice Ganda.
• That they would keep Kapamilya Gold as that and not progressively turn it into Kapamilya Bold.
• That they will develop better storylines with depth for their soap operas and not dwell on the marketing potential of scandalous scenes.
• That they would develop a technology to automatically *tooooot* whenever Korina Sanchez would tactlessly say another controversial statement live.
• That they would give James Reid and Nadine Lustre their own soap coz they can act well... better than some.

#My2015WishList for GMA Network

• That the network would see how much potential their artists have and if they don't pull efforts together for GMA Artist Center, GMA Films and Sunday noontime variety then they'd remain as tiny twinkling stars.
• That they would bring back the glory years of Telebabad by thinking well, thinking.
• That they would keep Basta Everyday Happy. At least they have a morning show.
• That they would find a show to preprogram Ryzza Mae.
• That they would maintain their Afternoon Prime really prime.
• That they would make Starstruck ten times better with GREAT JUDGES who would be like the American Idol judges.

#My2015WishList for TV5

• That they will continue producing out-of-the-box quality shows.

NYF International Television & Film Awards 2013 Concludes, ABS-CBN Wins Big

NEWS: Last April 9, the New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards gathered the world's major companies in the field of TV and film. Held in Las Vegas, our fellow Filipinos were not just part of it, they also brought home awards from the said event.

ABS-CBN Corporation won 1 Gold World Medal, 1 Silver World Medal, and 6 Finalist Certificates. GMA Network Inc. bagged 1 Silver World Medal for GMA News TV's Salat via Reel Time, and Finalist Certificates for Oras Na aired in GMA 7 and Ang Pinakabata via GMA News TV. 

Unitel Productions Inc. won a Finalist Certificate for its Rogue Cover sales ad and a Bronze World Medal for A Life In A Day, a short film.

TV5 earned recognition of Finalist Certificate via its defunct show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Philippines. This was hosted by former Extra Challenge host Paolo Bediones.

It's clear that ABS-CBN won this race but truly every network and company deserves accolade for bringing Philippines the bacon! Here's a complete list of the awards given to ABS-CBN, that night's bigger pride for the country.

Will TV5's Kidlat Create A Thunder Effect on Primetime?

TV5's most promising TV series so far, KIDLAT will star Derek Ramsay in this superhero series. Will it be a strong enough lightning to take the viewers' attention?

This 2013, we have yet to see if TV5 has finally found a precious gem to boost its ratings. So far, the trailer is impressive. It goes head-to-head with ABS-CBN's Juan De La Cruz concept-wise and not so much against GMA 7's Indio.

Why JC De Vera's Transfer To TV5 Made Him "Sayang"

He was already one of THE LEADING MEN in GMA 7 until his manager transferred him to TV5. JC De Vera is one of those people consider "sayang."

Now that GMA 7 televised one of his movies where he played support to Richard Gutierrez in My Bestfriend's Girlfriend, JC De Vera reminds us of how he had almost everything. He had the looks, the lead actor charisma, the physique, and most especially THE TALENT. But Anabelle Rama decided to bring him to the still-to-rise station TV5. True, he may have not passed a day without work and good pay, but less and less people are noticing and remembering him. In fact, he's close to being forgotten.

Why was his transfer a "sayang" to the OUTSIDER? We take a look!

• People already noticed him. After landing the lead role in LaLola with Rhian Ramos and in an afternoon series with Heart Evangelista, he was able to prove that he's ten times better than all the other actors in Kapuso network. In fact, he was given a month-long exposure in OBRA where he was able to play different dramatic roles on a weekly basis.
• He was already a household name. He was! Emphasis on the 'was.'
• He had a good number of following. Emphasis on the 'had.'

Is it too late to look back and go back? The OUTSIDER thinks it's not yet too late to go back! But to transfer to Kapamilya is also a possibility.

The OUTSIDER's point is simply this: JC De Vera is an actor. He deserves to be known for it and not just to earn from it, period!
