GMA Network COO Gilberto Duavit, Jr. said in an interview yesterday, November 5, 2015 that they have plans for Alden Richards & Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza in 2016.
These plans not only include a TV show which is most likely a primetime series but as well as other projects. These 'other projects' could be a world tour together under GMA Pinoy TV or a movie under GMA Films.

The headline is indeed interesting but it ends there. Unless of course the bosses behind GMA Films and the creative team would be brilliant enough to actually notice that this idea can actually become a big hit!
Given the right material, a comic role for Alessandra De Rossi who has been waiting and waiting and finally a younger guy comes along who meets the man of his dreams only younger. No conflict on third party is needed. The conflict can just focus on the lady's hard time to accept that she can't be old enough for the guy when it's true love.
Typical, age doesn't matter. But given a great script and a great director, this one will be a new movie to watch out for.

Just One Summer is not a blockbuster. Despite the push of GMA Network and GMA Films, what they expected from the trending love team did not at all happen. After the unearning film, their TV show Together Forever also ended yesterday.
What was lacking?
GMA Films has not found its counterpart for Richard Gutierrez-Angel Locsin teamup just yet. That's what was lacking. And JULIEMO is not the 'it' they're looking for.
It can be noted that the flop film My Kontrabida Girl by Aljur Abrenica and Rhian Ramos earned double more than this film.
Fans grieve for this sad truth. But GMA Films should face it, their film outfit has not yet regained its glory days and that they should not stop going back there and even surpass it.

For the first time, Filipino filmmakers pioneer a feature-length movie shot on green screen with the use of the latest technology. Starring Dingdong Dantes, director Erik Matti presents a traditional 'aswang' story in a new form which is consistent with the trend of Hollywood in the likes of The Walking Dead. Joining the cast are Lovi Poe, Janice De Belen, Joey Marquez among many others.

So far, the movie is getting good impressions from social networking site users. The trailer of this movie has been quite impressive. Shown in HD on Youtube, Dantes provides an action feel in his role battling the 'aswangs' who by the way looked so modern. To watch out for are the action scenes and the execution of digital effects. As for the story, we want to bank on the presence of Erik Matti as director who has done quite remarkable films in the past.
Showing this October, will this be a historic elevation for the horror genre in the Philippine movie industry or another 'trying hard copycat' which will fail the moviegoers? Will it be a revelation?
